What is #OneLessCupOfCoffee?

How it Works.

Welcome to One Less Cup Of Coffee!

Did you know, that according to http://www.e-importz.com  the average American coffee drinker drinks more than 3 cups of coffee per day?

If you use a Starbucks Cafe Latte Vendi as a benchmark, at $4.15 per cup, that is a daily spend of $12.45 per day on coffee. That works out to $373.50 a month.

Americans spend an astonishing 18 billion dollars a year on coffee.

Why am I telling you this?

Well, get some coffee, sit down and relax, and I'll tell you a story...

My friend of 33 years, and current girlfriend, has cancer. Since 2003, she has had numerous operations and chemo to keep it under control. She has had so much Iterferon, that she hasn't had a cold in 10 years. At the moment, she is back at work and able to travel, but the cancer sits there, inside her body, waiting, lurking - biding it's time.

I am scared. I am scared to lose the one person in my life (apart from my dad) that is so pure of heart - so giving.

There is an old Afrikaans saying: "Elke pot het 'n deksel." Every pot has a lid. She is my lid.

I love her more than words can say.

After living a selfless life for the past 35 years, she, like so many of us older folk, wants to see the world before she dies. The ole 'bucket list'.

Some of the destinations on her list include Machu Picchu, Angkor Wat and the Taj Mahal (which she did last year).

Over the last 15 years, a pattern has emerged. She is fine for 4 to 5 years - and then it comes back. I am no cancer expert, but, seeing that everything in my healthy body is starting to go - my knees, my shoulder, my prostate, my eyes, my hair... and so much more - then I worry that when the cancer inevitably raises its ugly head in a year or two, her body will not be strong enough to cope.

I will lose her.

What do coffee and cancer have to do with each other? Thank you for asking...

I am not comfortable asking for charity, so I have come up with scheme to enable my queen to tick off the remainder of her travel bucket list.

So I am now in the travel business (part time). I have put together some travel packages to some of the destinations on her travel bucket list.

The idea is to price them at cost price and add $373 per person to the cost.

This is cheaper than a standard tour operator.

Nobody makes a profit - YOU save - and my queen gets to join the tour group using the $373 dollars per person.

Seems like a win-win situation.

And all you have to do is give up one cup of coffee a day for 3 months.

Alternatively, drink as much coffee as you like and just use your credit card :-)

If your inner voice is screaming scam ( which is natural in this day and age) - I will put your mind at rest.

All accommodation, flights, etc. will be listed on the website. Feel free to check prices.

Of course, you could just use my information and itinerary to plan your own trip, and I would be none the wiser.

But my queen believes in giving people the benefit of the doubt and that we are all intrinsically good.

Personally, I believe that life is about love, family, friends and shared experiences. Life should not revolve around chasing money at any cost. But that's just me :-)
